Frequently Asked Questions

Bleach Accelerator

Does bleach kill mold?

There are EPA-registered products that are bleach-based and claim to kill molds.

How does the Bleach Accelerator work?

Bleach Accelerator is a non-ionic hyper wetting agent that lowers the surface tension and increases the reaction rate of normal household bleach exponentially. This allows the bleach to penetrate deep into semi-porous materials like wood and drywall. With the increased reaction rate, it works faster than bleach alone.

Is Bleach Accelerator EPA registered to kill mold?

No, Mold Eaze does not make any claims that it kills or removes mold that would violate EPA registration claims. However, it is an excellent organic stain removal solution at less than half the price of competitors.

What surfaces can I use Bleach Accelerator on?

Wood, drywall, concrete and any surfaces that would not be harmed by bleach.

Neutralizer

What concentration of bleach should I use?

One of the advantages of Bleach Accelerator is that you can use it to control the concentration of bleach depending on the surfaces you are treating. For heavy growth on wood structures, such as in attics and crawlspaces, you may want to use a 10% bleach solution, commonly known as pool shock. For more moderate mold growth, you may want to use a 5-6% bleach solution, which is what most common household bleach is. For patio furniture and boat seats, you would only need about a 1-3% bleach solution.

What is the purpose of the Neutralizer?

The Neutralizer is designed to oxidize surface and airborne contaminants by introducing oxygen molecules, thereby altering the molecular structure of the contaminants.

Will it leave a residue?

Overuse of Mold Eaze Neutralizer can result in a residue, which can be easily cleaned with warm water. However, when used as directed, it will not leave behind any noticeable residue and is completely biodegradable.

Should I wear personal protection when applying Neutralizer?

Yes, you should wear protective gloves and eye protection. Additionally, wear a respirator when applying Neutralizer in the air to avoid inhaling the particulates.

Will the Neutralizer damage furniture or clothing?

Mold Eaze Neutralizer contains 8% hydrogen peroxide as the active ingredient. However, because the application is dispersed in fine particles, there is not enough to damage most textiles and furniture when used as directed.

When should I use the Neutralizer?

Mold Eaze Neutralizer should be used after mold stain cleaning has been completed and the cleaned materials have dried.

Allergen Reducer

What is the purpose of the Allergen Reducer?

Mold growth not only degrades building materials but also disperses allergens into the air, which can cause irritation. Fogging Allergen Reducer throughout the building will help reduce these allergens through encapsulation.

Will Allergen Reducer leave behind a residue?

Overuse of Allergen Reducer can result in a residue, which can be easily cleaned with warm water. Otherwise, when used as directed, it will not leave behind any noticeable residue and is completely biodegradable.

When should I use Allergen Reducer?

Allergen Reducer should be used as the final step of the cleaning process. It can be applied on the same day or the day after the first two steps are completed.

Can I use Allergen Reducer on a regular basis?

Yes, we recommend using Allergen Reducer once a month to help maintain a more allergen-free environment.

Mold Testing

How do I know if I have mold on surfaces and in the air? The most common methods for testing surfaces for mold are either a tape lift or swab sample. For air samples, the most common method is to use an Air-O-Cell cassette. These samples are then sent to laboratories and evaluated by trained technicians.

Should I get my home tested for mold?

Testing for mold can be expensive, but sometimes having a professional evaluate your home can be worthwhile. Professionals can test surfaces and air quality for mold spores. We do not recommend hiring a company that also does mold remediation to perform mold testing, as this could present a conflict of interest. It's best to use a company that specializes only in mold testing and does not perform remediation themselves.

Can I test for mold on surfaces and air quality myself?

Another method for testing molds on surfaces is by using the Informant Plus Allergenic & Black Mold Detection kit. This is a DIY kit that accurately detects molds on surfaces. While not as detailed as lab results, it can confirm if mold is present on surfaces. You can find this kit at You can find them at https://advnt.org/product/black-mold-detection-test-kit/ For DIY testing of mold spores in the air, we recommend using the “My Mold Detective” air sample kit.
